D.G. Acosta, L.D.O. , C.O.T. received his academic and clinical training abroad (1982-1986) and completed 2 years of training at the University of Houston-College of Optometry (1986-1988).
Mr. Acosta is certified by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology, the American Board of Opticianry, the National Contact Lens Examiner and the OAA Low Vision Program.
In addition to his certifications, Mr. Acosta holds licensure as an Optician and has Florida Board certification for the fitting, adaptation and dispensing of contact lenses. He has been licensed in Virginia and Texas.
D.G. Acosta, L.D.O., C.O.T. relocated his Contact Lens and Low Vision Practice to the new location on January of 2010. Mr. Acosta had his practice in South Fort Myers inside a large Ophthalmology Center until the retirement of the principal Ophthalmologist. During his twenty years, Mr. Acosta assisted with hundreds of eye examinations, contact lens fits and low vision services. Previous patients of him automatically receive 10% off any service in addition to any specials.
Our Medical Director, John Swift, M.D. has been taking care of Floridians for several decades. A graduate from Seton Hall Medical School in New Jersey and with internships from Temple University and the University of Michigan. John Swift, M.D. is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Bascolm Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami School of Medicine. Having trained many ophthalmologist, John Swift, M.D. continues to go to Miami two days a week.
